How do I postpone a module's first presentation?

The intention to consider a postponement of the published first presentation of a module should be signalled as early as possible in the unit’s annual forward module plans. The operational implications of any delay to the overall start of the module will need to be given special consideration.

If the decision to postpone a module's first presentation is approved, then the postponement should be recorded on Planet as soon as possible by using screen PL019. Recording a postponement is actually the same as cancelling the original first presentation record and then creating a new first presentation record:

  1. In PL019, put to 'Cancelled' status the first individual presentation that no longer applies (e.g. if the module first presentation has changed from 2006E to 2006K, then the 2006E presentation record should be Cancelled).
  2. Then record a new first individual presentation. Ensure that the correct presentation statuses are set by checking in the screen help for guidance.
  3. Notice that the (module) Life in the screen header will have changed to reflect the presentation change.

Various bulletin board notes will have been created that should alert Student Services to the change of module start. This should be enough, but if in doubt contact the Liaison & Information Team (LIT) (Student Services) to confirm the changes. If module registrations have already begun, there may be cost implications if students need to informed of the postponement.  The LIT should be able to advise you further about this.
