What are presentations used for?
Module presentation data on Planet is used all over the University to support a variety of processes:
- Student mailings. The individual presentations in PL019 are necessary for the creation and maintenance of student mailing records that are set up by Production & Presentation Administrators (or their equivalents) in CAUs.
- Student registrations. Individual presentations are collected from Planet by the Liaison & Information Team (LIT) (Student Services) for loading onto the CIRCE system. The presentations are then used for many purposes, chiefly the setting-up of student registrations. It is therefore essential that the details of the Planet individual presentations are correct (e.g. the presentation Start date) as these will be transferred to CIRCE and become embedded in student registration forms. The Communications Team should be consulted about any late changes to presentation dates as soon as they are first considered by a Module Team. Click here to find out who to contact in the Communications Team if any core module details change at any point in the module's lifecycle.
Student number forecasts. The Planning Office will only produce a student number forecast for module presentations recorded in PL019. The forecasts are then downloaded into Planet and displayed in CS007 Student numbers. For more details about how the forecasts are made and who to contact with related queries, visit the Forecasting Team (Information Office) website.
